Hello, new academic year!
It's nice to meet you
A blog post Women Scholars and Professionals

Although summer hasn’t completely drawn to a close yet, we’re starting to turn our minds to the fresh school year. What new adventures await you, just around the corner? To get our minds primed for the new year, let’s engage our imaginations and envision that very first day, including that age-old question: What will I wear? Fair or not, this decision often has an outsize impact on the way we’re perceived throughout the year. We’re looking back at this article from two seasoned academics to help us get clarity on how to dress on that first day, whether you’re a grad student or a faculty member.
“What to wear may sound like a less important topic, but it is an opportunity to affirm our embodied selves going through the world, and an opportunity to look carefully at our institutional norms and decide how to engage them.”

Did you know that we regularly publish our original book discussion guides? If you’re looking for a deeply engaging way to think about the integration of faith and work, check out our new discussion guide on Jeff Haanen’s book Working from the Inside Out. And if you’re new to our discussion guides, you’ll find a treasure trove of them (plus tips on leading a book club) on our Book Club page — perfect for starting up a book group on your own. And, of course, let us know if you need some coaching!
“Often, we experience life as unrelated components resulting in feeling disintegrated at the core of our being. We long to feel whole, to be an integrated self. In this book, Jeff Haanen shows how we can seek deep spiritual health rather than be formed by our culture which influences us to live fragmented lives.”
