Welcoming the stranger
There's power in an invitation
A blog post Women Scholars and Professionals

We’ve been talking about it for weeks, but the new school year is truly upon us now. First-year students and faculty have joined our ranks — and for those of us who are returning to an institution (or even just living in the same home that we did six months ago), we have an opportunity to practice hospitality with the strangers in our circles. But where to start? Madeline and Andy Kim offer their tips on extending welcome without worrying too much about the details.
“Over the years and after hosting hundreds of people in our home, we’ve learned ways to take the intimidation out of hosting so that it flows naturally out of our love for Jesus and for the people He places in our lives.”
The school year is in full swing not only for universities, but also for the tiny humans amongst us. Whether you’re a parent, an auntie, or a kind neighbor, we invite you to pray along with us for adults and children alike as we enter this new school year. Tara Edelschick and Kathy Tuan-MacLean guide us gently before God as we consider ourselves and those little ones near to us. (And if you haven’t heard it, check out our podcast with them from this spring!)
Holy Trinity, take us to school this year, where we can learn tolove others as you continue to love usresource others as you continue to resource ussee the dignity and worth in others as you continue to see them in us.
